Trössing is a village and formerly an independent municipality with 252 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the district of Southeast Styria in Styria , Austria . It belonged to the Feldbach judicial district . As part of the municipal structural reform in Styria , the municipality has been incorporated into the municipality of Gnas from January 1, 2015 with the municipalities Aug-Radisch , Baumgarten bei Gnas , Grabersdorf , Maierdorf , Poppendorf , Raning and Unterauersbach . The basis for this was the Styrian Municipal Structural Reform Act - StGsrG.
geography
Trössing is located about 15 kilometers northwest of Bad Radkersburg and about 40 kilometers southeast of the provincial capital Graz . The area belongs to the Eastern Styrian hill country and is drained in a north-south direction by the Gnasbach , a tributary of the Mur . The altitude extends from 260 m above sea level. A. am Gnasbach up to 330 m above sea level. A. on the western and 380 m above sea level. A. on the eastern edge of the municipality. The municipality covers an area of 4.18 square kilometers.
Trössing belongs to the Steirisches Vulkanland region and is officially designated as a "volcanic community".

On October 1, 1991, the municipality of Trössing was granted the right to use a municipal coat of arms.

Trössing is away from the main roads. The Gnaser Landesstraße L 211, which connects the Südsteirische Grenzstraße B 69 with the Feldbacher Straße B 68, and the Trössing Landesstraße L 254, which connects the municipality with the neighboring town of Bierbaum am Auersbach, run through the municipality.
