Unterauersbach was an independent municipality with 432 inhabitants (as of October 31, 2013) in southeast Styria in the district of southeast Styria until December 31, 2014 . As part of the municipal structural reform in Styria , the municipality was incorporated into the municipality of Gnas on January 1, 2015 with the municipalities Aug-Radisch , Baumgarten bei Gnas , Grabersdorf , Maierdorf , Poppendorf , Raning and Trössing . The basis for this was the Styrian Municipal Structural Reform Act - StGsrG.
geography
Unterauersbach is located about 34 km southeast of Graz and about 13 km southwest of the district capital Feldbach in the eastern Styrian hill country .

The municipality comprised the following three localities (number of inhabitants in brackets, as of January 1, 2020):
- Glatzental (135)
- Oberauersbach (81)
- Unterauersbach (216)
The community consisted of the only cadastral community Unterauersbach.

The municipal council, which was dissolved on December 31, 2014, consisted of nine members and, since the municipal council election in 2010, has consisted of mandates from the following parties:

coat of arms
The municipal coat of arms was awarded with effect from August 1, 1993.
