Jochen Wucherer

Jochen Wucherer is a former German basketball player . He became German champion in 1967 with MTV Gießen . He is the father of Nicolas Wucherer and Denis Wucherer .

Player career

Wucherer began playing  basketball in his hometown of Mainz at the age of 15 ; the 1.90 meter tall indoor player played for the Mainz gymnastics club from 1817 . In 1965 he moved to Giessen, where he joined the local MTV and studied to be a teacher in French and sports at the university. In 1967 he won the German championship with Central Hessen under the direction of coach Laszlo Lakfalvi . Wucherer then moved back to Mainz, where he also went to work in the top German league. After the end of his playing career, he worked as a coach and led the women's team at TV Oppenheim up to the Bundesliga.

As a teacher he went to Senegal in 1994 , where he taught German and trained pedagogues.
