Player career

Wucher's father Jochen played in the basketball league , his brother Denis was a German national player before he began a career as a coach.

Nicolas Wucherer made the leap into the German junior national team at the end of the 1980s, with which he took part in the final round of the European Cadet Championship in 1987, the European Junior Championship a year later and the U22 European Championship in 1992.

Wucherer came to TG Würzburg through the Offenbach, TV Langen and MTV Gießen stations , with whom he made it to the top division in 1998. In the top German division, Wucherer was part of the Würzburg squad from 1998 to 2000. In 1998/99 he scored an average of 4.5 points in 24 games, in 1999/2000 he posted 28 appearances and an average of 3.1 points per match. In addition to his basketball career, he completed a law degree and later worked as a lawyer .

After the end of the 1999/2000 season, he ended his Bundesliga career.

Coaching career

Wucherer tried to stabilize the cathedral city's basketball location in the second division in the 2005/2006 season after the TSK Würzburg was out. With his talent development program “player development program” (pdp), Holger Geschwindner acquired the license for a place in the second basketball league. The partner of the pdp was USC Mainfranken . Geschwindner and usurers trained the team and wanted to sign both sponsors and suitable players. The season ended in a "second division disaster," wrote the Main-Post .

After his professional career, Wucherer trained TV Marktheidenfeld as a player coach . There he took the starting place of the USC Mainfranken for the 1st regional league. TV Marktheidenfeld was able to play in the 1st regional league instead of USC in the 2006/07 season.

From December 1, 2008 to September 2009, he was managing director of the Rhine-Neckar Olympic base in Heidelberg .

As a coach, Wucherer passed on his basketball experience to the youngsters in the Würzburg youth work, was sometimes on the field himself in the jersey of the senior teams of the Würzburg gymnastics community and was German champion.

Wucherer returned to the arena of higher amateur basketball in the 2019/2020 season. For TG Veitshöchheim he played nine times in the 2nd Regionalliga Nord of the Southeast relay. Wucherer was injured at times and took over the coaching position from Christian Gabold during the games. With Wucherer, the TGV won promotion to the 1st Regionalliga Southeast as the first-placed team .
