Maierklopfen is a district of the municipality of Bockhorn in the district of Erding in Upper Bavaria .

geography

The village is five kilometers east of Bockhorn and belongs to the Eschlbach district , which is 2.5 kilometers north. It is located on a flat hill in the tertiary Isar-Inn hill country ( Erdinger Holzland ). The isolated settlement of Hubberg , the hamlet of Übermiething and the village of Maierklopfen are located on a range of hills from north to south , making them one of the highest districts in the municipality of Bockhorn.

One kilometer to the east is the hamlet of Hörgersdorf in the neighboring municipality of Taufkirchen (Vils) , one kilometer west of the hamlet Haselbach , and one kilometer to the south is the isolated settlement of Untermailling .

Two streams have their source here: The Maierklopfener Graben flows 500 meters east into the Große Vils (see list of tributaries of the Vils ); the source of the great Vils is two kilometers south in Seeon. The Tankhamer Bach flows west to Tankham , in the Haselbach (near Haselbach), which flows over the Hochbach (near Bockhorn) into the Strogen (near Hecken).

809 a Mataclapfin is occupied. The name could refer to Matte ( meadow ) and Klapf ( hill ), or simply Mähwiese .

In 972/76, Bishop Abraham von Freising exchanged properties in Sollach, Maierklopfen and Riedersheim for others in Oppolding "from the noble vassal of the Ruodbert Church" . In 994/1005, Mataglappha was recorded as a Freising property. From the 13th century Madechlapfen was owned by Au. 1571 was for Marglapfen u. a. Au registered as landlord.

Modern times

In 1874, 95 inhabitants were recorded in the statistical description of the Archdiocese of Munich-Freising in Mairklopfen . In 1877 the current name Maierklopfen appears.

The place belonged to the former municipality of Eschlbach until 1972 and came to the municipality of Bockhorn when it was dissolved.

Architectural monuments

In the list of architectural monuments in Bockhorn (Upper Bavaria) the court chapel with Lourdes grotto and two turrets is mentioned (around 1750 and around 1890).

Three churches with outstanding Rococo furnishings can be found nearby: St. Bartholomäus (Hörgersdorf) and St. Mary's Birth (Eschlbach) two kilometers away, St. John the Baptist (Oppolding) four kilometers away.

Transport and public facilities

State road 2084 runs one kilometer south and connects the place with Erding and Dorfen . The federal motorway 94 runs eight kilometers south. The Thann-Matzbach station Six kilometers south. Maierklopfen is connected to Erding and Dorfen via the MVV regional bus 565.

A cycle route leads through Maierklopfen from Erding to Dorfen or Taufkirchen (Vils) .

The Eschlbach Volunteer Fire Brigade in Hörgersberg , one kilometer away, is responsible for Maierklopfen .
