Erdinger Holzland
The Erdinger Holzland is a wooded and hilly area east of Erding in Upper Bavaria , district of Erding .
geography
The landscape belongs to the tertiary Isar-Inn hill country . In addition to the Big and Small Vils , the area is criss-crossed by many small and tiny streams. Until the state expansion and the subsequent waves of clearing, the Erdinger Holzland was densely forested. While the Erdinger Land in the west, a gravel terrace covered with clay and loess, has an excellent soil credit rating, the Erdinger Holzland in the east of Erding only has a medium soil quality. The Erdinger Holzland has remained a traditional, rural settlement and cultivated land, with largely intact agriculture and forestry. There is hardly any industry, just as there is no mass tourism. Many workers are therefore forced to work as commuters outside of the timber country.
The woodland includes the area of the communities Hohenpolding , Inning am Holz , Kirchberg and Steinkirchen as well as parts of the communities Taufkirchen , Fraunberg and Wartenberg .
Usage of names
The term Holzland gives its name to the Catholic parish association Holzland with the parishes Burgharting, Hohenpolding, Inning am Holz, Schröding and Steinkirchen. The administrative community Steinkirchen consists of the four communities Hohenpolding, Inning am Holz, Kirchberg and Steinkirchen, which form the center of the Erdinger Holzland. The communication organ of the administrative community is the "Holzlandblatt". The Holzland water association includes the municipalities of Hohenpolding, Kirchberg and Steinkirchen.
