Martina Eisenreich (born March 14, 1981 in Erding ) is a German composer, film composer and violinist. She is particularly known for her film music and her stage work.

Life

At the age of 15 Martina Eisenreich was accepted as a young student of classical composition with Dieter Acker at the University of Music and Theater in Munich . She completed the course composition for film and television with Enjott Schneider as well as film music and sound design at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy .

In 2007 she started her first movie, A Matter of Taste . At the same time, two films for which she composed the music were nominated for the Foreign Film Award of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences . Nevermeer won the so-called Student Academy Award . Milan made it onto the shortlist for the short film Oscar a year later.

Symphonic works such as the score for the film Mondmann (2006) are increasingly being performed by orchestras as concert music. New classical commissioned works and film music, also for international productions, are constantly being created. For this she worked with the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg , the Munich Radio Orchestra , members of the Munich Philharmonic , the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra in Bratislava, the Bulgarian Rousse Philharmonic Orchestra , the German State Philharmonic Rhineland-Palatinate and ensembles of the Hollywood Film Orchestras in the Clint Eastwood Warner Brothers' Scoring Stage in Los Angeles. Since 2016 Martina has devoted herself increasingly to orchestral work and conducting, supported by David Newman , Conrad Pope and Angel Velez in Los Angeles. In June 2017 she conducted the world premiere of her orchestral work Song of the Wind at the Rousse State Opera. In November 2019, the premiere of the Tales of Rhythm took place in Herford , a work commissioned by the Northwest German Philharmonic on the occasion of Nelson Mandela's 100th birthday .

Martina Eisenreich also composed the music for numerous radio plays such as Tannöd or Stiller , shaped by a longstanding bond with the director and NDR radio play director Norbert Schaeffer . She also wrote compositions for well-known European theater productions - for example Blind Date at the Schauspielhaus Graz , Berlin Alexanderplatz in Aachen and the commissioned work Brunhilds Welt for the Nibelungen Festival in Worms.

Together with the drummer, sound artist and music producer Wolfgang Lohmeier, Martina released several albums and concert programs of her own. Often unusual instruments and chimes are used, which the two have developed for their own projects. With him and her ensembles she has played around 1500 concerts in European countries.

Her performances with the Martina Eisenreich Quartet / Quintet, Martina Eisenreich & Andreas Hinterseher ( Quadro Nuevo ), and Lauschgold are particularly well established.

In the last few years there has been close collaboration with the film director Pia Strietmann and the film and opera director Axel Ranisch . For his crime scene: Waldlust she wrote an entire symphony on behalf of the Südwestrundfunk . In 2018 she was the first woman to be awarded the German Film Music Prize - Best Music in Film. For her compositions for the Spreewald crime thriller Zeit der Wölfe and the comedy Endlich Witwer , both films by Pia Strietmann for ZDF, she received two nominations for the German Television Prize 2020 in the category Best Music.
