Jochim Schäfer
Jochim Schäfer , also Joachim Schäfer (* 1641 ; † April 3, 1695 in Quedlinburg ) was a German carpenter . He made at least three still preserved and the World Heritage Site belonging timbered houses in Quedlinburg.
life and work
A total of three buildings constructed by Schäfer are known. The oldest building is Word 12, built in 1676 . Steinbrücke 19 was built after 1676 . The last known building is the Hohe Strasse 31 building, erected in 1679 .
His buildings are of high quality and decorated with decorative elements such as St. Andrew's crosses and diamond crosses in the parapet fields. In addition, there are friezes on the parapets.
On November 20, 1666, he married Anna Maria Urban in Quedlinburg's Westendorf . At that time he was a journeyman carpenter. The children Stephan Andreas (1667), Johannes (1669) and Hans Andreas (1672) resulted from the marriage. The master carpenter Hans Rühle was the godfather of Johannes . Schäfer died in the old town of Quedlinburg in 1695.
