Joe Jones (born August 12, 1926 in New Orleans , † November 27, 2005 in Los Angeles ) was an American rhythm and blues singer.
Life
After serving in the US Navy , Jones studied music at the Juilliard Conservatory of Music. After graduating, he worked as a pianist and arranger for BB King . His debut solo single was Will Call in 1954 and his single You talk too much reached number 3 on the US charts in 1960. Jones was the discoverer and later manager of the Dixie Cups . In 1973 he went to Los Angeles, where he started his own music publishing company. Jones died after bypass surgery on November 27, 2005 at the age of 79 in Los Angeles.
