Joe Niczky

Joachim "Joe" Niczky (born April 28, 1918 in Berlin-Schöneberg , † 1986 in Munich ) was a German photographer .

Life

Joe, actually Joachim, Niczky was the son of the painter and graphic artist Rolf Niczky and his first wife Bella, née Rosenberg. His grandfather was the painter Eduard Niczky .

Niczky worked in Berlin and Munich. The focus of his work was in the 1940s to 1970s. He has been through numerous fashion and advertising photographs known above all as a star photographer of the UFA .

He was married to the actress Ilse Petri and died after a long-term lung disease.
