Joseph V. "Joe" Renzetti (born January 4, 1941 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is an American composer and musician .

Life

Renzetti was trained at the Manhattan School of Music . As early as the 1960s, he was working as a studio musician in Philadelphia for Cameo Records and has occasionally produced a few albums to this day.

For his first film The Buddy Holly Story as a film music composer, he was awarded the Oscar at the 1979 Academy Awards. In the same year he worked with the director John Carpenter and the film Elvis - The King was made . Renzetti was nominated for the Golden Raspberry for his work on the 1980 film Secret Order Hollywood .

In 1988 he was the composer of the two horror films Poltergeist III - The Dark Side of Evil and Chucky - The Killer Doll . From 1993 to 1994 he composed the music for the television series Missing Persons . One director, writer and producer he works with frequently is Gary Sherman.
