Joel Asch
Joel Asch , also Joel ben Meir Joseph (born 1745 in Stargard , Prussia ; died October 3, 1810 in Schönlanke , Duchy of Warsaw ) was a Jewish scholar and rabbi .
Life
Joel Asch's father was the protective Jew Meyer Joseph. Joel Asch studied the Talmud in Frankfurt (Oder) and Berlin . In Berlin he was tutor to the senior regional elder Jacob Moses for five years. In 1779 Joel Asch became rabbi and head of the Beth Hamidrash in Schönlanke, where he died in 1810.
