Joel Dacks
Joel B. Dacks (born February 6, 1973 in Edmonton ) is a Canadian biochemist and lecturer at the University of Alberta and former child actor .
Dacks became known in 1985 through the lead role in the German-Canadian television series Der kleine Vampir , in which he played the vampire Rüdiger von Schlotterstein at the age of twelve . He later appeared in supporting roles in a number of Canadian television productions until he ended his film career in 1990. A return to the canvas precludes Dacks.
Joel Dacks later studied biochemistry and received his PhD from Dalhousie University . He is now an Assistant Professor in the Department of Cell Biology at the University of Alberta, where he researches eukaryotic membrane transport systems.
