Joel Serkes

Joel Serkes (also Sirkis or Sirkes ; * 1561 in Lublin ; † 1640 in Cracow ) was a Jewish scholar and decisor , best known for his work bajit chadasch (abbreviated BaCH; "new house"), commentary on the door of Jacob b. Ashtray .

He also wrote responses and talmudic commentaries. He rejected philosophy as well as the Pilpul method and instead preferred the study of Kabbalah .
