Joeline Möbius

Joeline Möbius (born August 26, 1992 in Chemnitz ) is a German gymnast .

Joeline Möbius is a student and lives in Limbach-Oberfrohna . She starts for the TuS 1861 Chemnitz-Altendorf and is trained by Gabriele Frehse. Her specialty is floor exercise. In 2004 Möbius became German junior champion in all-around, in 2005 in all-around, jumping, uneven bars and balance beam, in 2006 in all-around, balance beam and floor. In 2006 she also won silver in jumping and bronze in uneven bars. In the same year she was team third at the European Junior Championships in Volos . In 2007 Möbius again won the junior title on the ground, in all-around competition, on the balance beam, on the uneven bars and in the jump. In Stuttgart she took part in the gymnastics world championships in 2007 and was tenth with the team. In 2008, the Limbacher won silver on the balance beam and bronze on the floor at the German championships. She was sixth in the all-around competition. At the European Championships in Clermont-Ferrand Möbius was team seventh. With her good performances of the year, she qualified for the Olympic Games in Beijing , where she achieved 12th place with the German team.

In 2009 Möbius won a German championship title for the first time on the balance beam .

In February 2010 Möbius surprisingly announced her retirement from competitive sports in order to be able to devote more time to her academic and professional career. In August 2010, however, she returned to competitive gymnastics.
