Johan Adriaan Heuff

Johan Adriaan Heuff, Az. (* March 6, 1843 in Kerk-Avezaath ; † June 6, 1910 in Heerde ), known under the pseudonyms J. Huf van Buren , Jan van Brabant and Cosinus , was a Dutch writer .

Heuff studied at the academy in Delft and since then has lived in his place of birth without an office.

He made detailed preliminary studies for his historical novels so that they show great historical fidelity. To be emphasized are:

  • De Kroon van Gelderland (The Hague 1877);
  • De mannen van Sint-Maarten , (3 vols., Ibid. 1882);
  • De laatste der Arkels (2 vols., Haarlem 1885) and
  • Hertog Adolf (The Hague 1886).

His travel pictures Langs Lahn en Dill (2 vols.) Contain natural poetry; Heuff also edited a stage adaptation of his contemporary novel Oom Frederik (Haarlem 1886), which is distinguished by its character portrayals (Zütphen 1887).
