Johan Hallen (born June 16, 1588 in Strängnäs as Johan Hallenus ; † February 1659 ) was a Swedish diplomat and councilor in Swedish Pomerania .

Life

Johan Hallenus went on several trips abroad in his youth, studied law and was awarded a Dr. iur. PhD . In 1625 he became private tutor (governor) for Ture Bielke (1606-1648), the son of Imperial Councilor Nils Bielke (1569-1639), and his cousin Sten Svantesson Bielke .

When Sweden entered the Thirty Years' War under Gustav II Adolf , he was secretary of the king's field chancellery and followed this with twenty clerks into the Holy Roman Empire . After the occupation of Pomerania by the Swedes, he was resident in Stralsund from 1632 to 1639 and Assistant Councilor for Western Pomerania to the Swedish Governor General. In 1639 he became a councilor in the Swedish government in Pomerania . In 1642 he worked with Alexander Erskein on the establishment of the court in Greifswald . In 1646 he carried out a visit to the University of Greifswald together with the councilors Gerdt Anton Rehnskiöld and Friedrich Bohl .

In 1646 he was raised to the Swedish nobility.

His daughter Anna was married to Joachim Friedrich Edling. His second daughter Margaretha married Michael Vieth, ennobled as von Strahlheim .
