House number 12

The Gödewitz entrepreneur Johann Gottfried Boltze had the building built as a flour shop in 1863 as part of the rebuilding of the water mill, built from 1861 to 1863. The flours produced by the water mill were sold here. Due to the still prevailing mill compulsion , the residents of the surrounding villages had to have their grain ground in the newly built water mill. In a report from 1866 it is described that the flour here was already sold by weight and no longer by measure and that the price was adjusted to the market price every week.

Similar to other buildings built by Boltze and his son-in-law, the Brachwitz- based entrepreneur Carl Wentzel , it exudes its own charm and looks more like an inn.
