Johann Adam Liebert , Edler von Liebenhofen since 1763 (born April 20, 1697 in Biberbach an der Riss ; † March 16, 1766 in Augsburg ), was an Augsburg banker , jeweler and silver dealer who was elevated to the status of imperial knight.

Life

Johann Adam Liebert was born on April 20, 1697 in the imperial city of Biberbach as the son of the local merchant Johann Liebert and his wife Sabina Susanna née Morell from Ravensburg . Already in Biberbach he laid the foundation for his action science . Liebert later settled in Augsburg, where he set up an important trading company as a silver dealer and supplied the imperial mint in Günzburg. As a silver supplier, he maintained good relationships with the Viennese and Munich courts. Within a very short time, Liebert achieved enormous wealth. He received the Augsburg patriciate and was elevated to hereditary imperial knighthood in 1763 with the predicate Edler von Liebenhofen . Liebert died on March 16, 1766, at the age of less than 69.

Johann Adam Liebert married Maria Elisabeth Mayer (* 1702, † 1771) on November 17, 1727, the daughter of the Augsburg merchant Benedikt Mayer. She became the mother of seven children, three of whom survived:
