Johann Andreas Frommann (born January 28, 1672 in Tübingen ; † January 2, 1730 in Stuttgart ) was a German lawyer and professor and rector at the University of Tübingen .

Life

Johann Andreas Frommann matriculated in Tübingen in 1685 and completed his studies in philosophy, philology and law in Tübingen and Leipzig . In 1695 he returned to Tübingen and was court attorney. In 1699 he was promoted to Dr. iur. utr. PhD. He was then extraordinary and from 1702 to 1712 full professor of rights (institutions) in Tübingen. In the years 1704–1705 he was rector of the University of Tübingen. In 1709 he became a learned senior councilor in Stuttgart while retaining the professorship. In 1711 he became a real secret council and also a district envoy. In 1712 he moved to Stuttgart. His portrait hangs in the professors' gallery in Tübingen .

He was the son of Johann Andreas Frommann and father of Friedrich Wilhelm Frommann .
