Johann Andreas Frommann (born September 2, 1626 in Coburg , † February 7, 1690 in Tübingen ) was a German lawyer .

Life

From 1643 he studied philosophy, philology and law at the Universities of Altdorf , Strasbourg and from 1652 in Tübingen. In 1653 he became an informer for the sons of Baron Ferdinand von Croneck . From 1655 he lived in Strasbourg again. From 1656 to 1658 he was the informator and secretary of the Count Palatine Christian and Johann Karl on a trip. In 1659 he was promoted to Dr. iur. utr. PhD. He became councilor and syndic of the imperial knighthood in the Ortenau district. 1660–1690 he followed a call as a full professor of rights in Tübingen (institutions and pandects). In 1665/66, 1671, 1674/75, 1679, 1684/85 and 1689/90 he was rector and prorector of the University of Tübingen. Since then, two of his portraits have been hanging in the professors' gallery in Tübingen . 1668–1671 and 1680–1683 he was Supremus Deputatus .

He was the son-in-law of Johann Ulrich Pregitzer . He was the father of Johann Andreas Frommann (Junior) and Johann Ulrich Frommann and the grandfather of Friedrich Wilhelm Frommann . He was Michael Graß's father-in-law .
