Johann Andreas Schmid (fencing master)

Johann Andreas Schmid , also Schmiedt (* before 1713 in Zöblitz ; † June 8, 1749 in Bläsibad ) was a German fencing master .

Life

Schmid trained in fencing with Johann Georg Bruch in Amsterdam and was fencing master in Nuremberg around 1713 , then in Hildburghausen , and in 1721 in Bayreuth . From 1729 and 1736 to 1739 he was employed as a fencing master at the Württemberg court in Stuttgart and Ludwigsburg . From 1739 until his death (1749) he was university fencing master in Tübingen .
