Johann Anton Wallé (born October 23, 1807 in Cologne ; † September 13, 1876 ibid) was a German architect and teacher at the Royal Provincial Trade School in Cologne .

Life

Wallé first attended the elementary drawing school founded by Egidius Mengelberg in Cologne in 1822. From 1826 to 1829 he studied on the recommendation of the Prussian ministerial official Beuth at the industrial academy in Berlin . In 1830 he continued his studies at the art academy in Munich . A few years later he received approval as a private master builder or “commissioned master builder”. From 1833 to 1876 he worked as a teacher for building construction, drawing and modeling at the Royal Provincial Trade School in Cologne. On September 23, 1838 he married Anna Maria Baer, ​​with whom he had seven sons and two daughters. According to the Cologne address books of 1846 and 1858, Wallé lived with his family at Severinstrasse 227 or Pantaleonstrasse 2. He died of a heart attack at the age of 69. Josephstrasse 37 in Cologne is noted as the house where he died.

At the Melaten cemetery in Cologne , he designed the tomb for the banker Peter Heinrich Merkens (HWG - NS, no. 93–95).
