Johann Anton von Herrenschwand

Johann Anton von Herrenschwand (born May 19, 1764 in Murten , † April 19, 1835 in Bern ) was a Swiss military person.

Herrenschwand completed his training at the Stuttgart Military Academy , was a captain in a Walloon infantry regiment from 1782 , and served as a major in the Dutch from 1787 to 1795 . In 1802 he took part as a colonel in the Stecklikkrieg , and in 1805 was raised to the general staff of the federal troops . In 1805, 1809 and 1813 he was used in border occupations . In 1814 he wrote a memorandum on the military negotiations from late 1813. In 1800 he became a member of the municipality chamber in Murten and from 1803 to 1805 was the Freiburg State Councilor. From 1816 member of the Grand Council of Bern and the Council of War .
