Johann Christian Feige the Younger (* 1720 in Dresden ; † October 26, 1788 there ) was a German sculptor in Saxony .

Life

Born and raised in Dresden, Christian Feige the Younger began his sculptural training as the oldest son with his father, Johann Christian Feige the Elder . Primarily at the altar of the Dresden Frauenkirche, he helped and worked with his father from an early age. Later he moved to Leipzig , where he studied with the sculptor, plasterer and ivory carver Georg Franz Ebenhecht . He then returned to Dresden in 1750 and worked in his father's workshop, which he took over after his death in 1751. Due to the Seven Years' War (1756 to 1763) and the economically bad years, there were no major orders. He made elaborate grave monuments in and around Dresden.
