From 1716 he was court gardener at the Eutiner court of Christian August von Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf , Prince-Bishop of Lübeck , where he laid out the palace gardens based on the French model. In 1718 he became a gardening inspector and from 1727 he was senior building inspector for Eutin Castle and from 1735 senior rural building director for all buildings in the prince-bishopric. In this capacity he was also responsible for completing the New Prince-Bishop's Sepulcher Chapel in Lübeck Cathedral . He was probably also involved in the planning and construction of the Caspar von Saldern House in Neumünster between 1745 and 1746 .
