Johann Christian Neu (born October 2, 1668 in Lorch (Württemberg) ; † December 28, 1720 in Tübingen ) was a German professor of history and philology and rector at the University of Tübingen .

Life

Johann Christian Neu enrolled at the University of Tübingen in 1685. There he became an associate professor of history in 1699 and a full professor of eloquence , poetry and history in 1705 . In 1711/12 he was rector of the University of Tübingen.

Two of his portraits painted by Johann Christoph Kayser in 1684 hangs in the Tübingen professors' gallery .
