Johann Christoph Kaffka

Johann Christoph Kaffka , actually Johann Christoph Engelmann , (* 1754 in Regensburg , † 1815 in Riga ) was a German composer , violinist and opera singer .

Life

Kaffka received violin lessons from his father Joseph Kaffka and studied music theory with Joseph Riepel . From 1777 he was a singer at the theaters in Breslau, Saint Petersburg and Dessau. In 1803 he established himself as a bookseller in Riga.

He was married to the actress Therese Rosenberg .
