from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Johann Christoph Schmidt (born November 20, 1704 in Langensalza ; † 1781 ) was the royal Mansfeld court and mountain ridge and most recently the office director in Eisleben .

He stayed in Eisleben by 1731 at the latest. He was married to Christiana Friederica geb. Meurer, the daughter of the chief bailiff Ernst Friedrich Meurer . After the death of her mother, she inherited half of the Tunzenhausen estate in the Weißensee district . Schmidt's wife died on January 27, 1774 at the age of 61 after 42 years of marriage and was buried in the Andreas Church in Eisleben on January 30, 1774. The two sons Heinrich Wilhelm Schmidt and Gottlob Friedrich Schmidt emerged from the marriage. After the mother's death, they inherited her half at Gut Tunzenhausen.

On October 27, 1745, as a councilor, he acquired the Hanffstengel'sche Mannlehngut in Voigtstedt, which was for sale because of debts. Only two years later, Schmidt sold this property to the district councilor Johann Gottlieb Aurbach at a profit .

Schmidt also had three daughters, including the eldest Christiana Maria, widowed war councilor Jordan (born January 16, 1733) and Johanna Louise (born October 13, 1743, † May 23, 1824), who married the Leipzig history professor Friedrich August Wilhelm Wenck in 1781 . From this marriage there were three children.

Johann Christoph Schmidt had a doctorate and was one of the three universal heirs of the court councilor Johann Friedrich Zeumer , the nephew of his mother-in-law. In the recess between the will and feudal heirs Zeumers from 1778/79 he inherited his manor Schönefeld near Leipzig .
