Johann Conrad Sickel (born June 6, 1769 in Leipzig ; † March 3, 1837 there ) was a Saxon lawyer and between 1823 and 1829 four times mayor of the city of Leipzig .

Career

The son of a Leipzig junker was elected to the Leipzig council in 1799. In 1805 he was entrusted with the office of city judge. This was followed by the appointment of Scabinus (1810), Ordinary Consistorial Assessor (1812) and Royal Saxon Councilor (1822).

In the years 1823, 1825, 1827 and 1829 Sickel was mayor of the city of Leipzig.

From 1833 he was a member of the Royal State Court, from 1835 President of the Royal Saxon Court of Appeal in Leipzig.

Sickel was married to Anna Christiane , geb. Pausin (* 1774 in Leipzig), with whom he had three children.
