Johann Daniel Dorsten

Johann Daniel Dorsten (born April 20, 1643 in Marburg ; † September 20, 1706 there ) was a German personal physician, professor of medicine and physics at the University of Marburg and a member of the academy of scholars " Leopoldina ."

Johann Daniel Dorsten, also Johann Daniel Dorstenius, was the personal physician of the Landgrave of Hessen-Kassel and a full professor of medicine and physics in Marburg. He was the dean of the medical faculty. In 1689, 1693, 1701 and 1702 he was rector of the University of Marburg. He explicitly called himself a full professor of anatomy, surgery and botany. On June 18, 1684, Johann Daniel Dorstenius with the nickname AVERRHOES was accepted as a member ( matriculation no. 120 ) in the Leopoldina .
