Christian Friedrich Christoph Stelzer , also Steltzer (born September 30, 1738 in Salzwedel , † August 20, 1822 in Halle ) was a royal Prussian war and domain councilor , syndic and last city president ( mayor ) of Halle.

Life

Family and origin

Friedrich Stelzer was a son of the future mayor of Salzwedel Christian Friedrich Stelzer (1702-1759) and Charlotte Amalie Chüden (1706-1754). From 1777 he was married to Augusta Johanna Wilhelmine Klöcker (1756–1847) and they were parents of Christian Steltzer , among others , who was later raised to the nobility for his services .

career

He was a tax councilor in the Duchy of Magdeburg , later 12 years auditor and war treasurer in Mansfeld . Friedrich Stelzer then moved to the magistrate of the city of Halle and remained so after the change of the magistrate's constitution. From 1798 to 1808 he was mayor of the city of Halle . His successor was Ludwig Carl Heinrich Streiber .
