Peter Renger

Peter Renger (born June 11, 1941 ) is a German politician ( CDU ). He was Lord Mayor of the city of Halle (Saale) and in 1990 he was briefly a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Peter Renger is a member of the CDU. In the first free municipal election after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, he was elected Lord Mayor of the city of Halle (Saale). In 1991 he resigned after allegations of having been an unofficial employee of the Ministry for State Security of the GDR and Klaus Peter Rauen (CDU) was elected as his successor.

He was elected to the state parliament in the first state election in Saxony-Anhalt in 1990 in constituency 30 (Halle, Altstadt I). On November 1, 1990, he resigned from his office. The successor was Wolfgang Braun .
