Johann Demharter

Johann N. Demharter (born April 10, 1939 in Augsburg ) is a former judge at the Bavarian Supreme Court .

Life

Grew up in Augsburg, Demhart studied law in Munich. After completing his legal traineeship, he joined the Bavarian Justice Service in 1966. He initially worked as a public prosecutor, later as a judge at the Munich II regional court , and from 1972 at the Bavarian State Ministry of Justice. In 1977 he was appointed to the Munich Higher Regional Court . At the end of the 1960s , Demharter was a research assistant at the Bavarian Supreme Court. In 1986 he became a judge at the Supreme Court. Until his retirement in 2004, he was a member of the 2nd civil senate, which was responsible for home ownership and land register law. From 2000 he was deputy chairman of the 2nd Senate.

The legal commentary on the land register order, which he wrote alone from the 17th edition, is of particular importance . This work is considered a standard work on land register law. In addition, he published over a hundred articles in specialist journals, especially comments on decisions relating to residential property and property law. He wrote an article in the NJW on the history of the Bavarian Supreme Court, which he left when he retired as the longest-serving judge by far. He is co-editor of the journal FGPrax - Practice of voluntary jurisdiction.
