Johann Diedrich Rohde

Johann Diedrich Rohde (born August 1, 1842 in Anten near Berge ; † December 10, 1908 in Cuxhaven ) was a German teacher and first director of the Amandus Abendroth grammar school in Cuxhaven.

biography

Rohde attended elementary school in Berge and graduated from a private school in Berge. He then worked in the local agriculture.
He studied from 1860 to 1863 at the teachers' college in Osnabrück . He then worked as a teacher at a secondary school in Quakenbrück . In 1865 he switched to the Realschule in Bremen - Vegesack , which became a Realgymnasium ( Realschule II. Order ) in 1869 .
In addition, he learned newer languages ​​and he caught up with the Abitur. He studied classical and modern languages at the University of Göttingen and received his doctorate Dr. phil. He then worked again as a teacher in Vegesack. In 1874 Rohde worked at the old grammar school in Bremen .

In 1880 Rhode became a senior teacher at the learned school of the Johanneum in Hamburg. From 1888 he was acting head of the Cuxhaven school system and in 1891 he took over the position of director of the state high school with a Latin department on Deichstrasse . After the completion of today's Amandus-Abendroth-Gymnasium on Abendrothstrasse , he became its first director as a professor.
As a homeland researcher, he has written several articles on local history.

Rohde was married to Gesine Rohde geb. Wenke (* 1853).
