Johann Ehrenwerth Fichtel

Johann Ehrenwerth von Fichtel (born September 29, 1732 in Preßburg , † February 4, 1795 ) was an Austrian civil servant and mineralogist .

Life

Fichtel began his studies in Pressburg. At the age of 17 he was already doing legal studies and soon got a job in Transylvania , later at the court arithmetic chamber in Vienna . From 1768 he was employed for the second time as an accountant at the royal chamber in Transylvania. In 1778 he was councilor in Sibiu and in 1785 director of the toll office in Vienna. His last job was a councilor in Transylvania until his death in 1795.
