Johann Elias Reichardt

Johann Elias Reichardt , also Johann Elias Reichard , (born September 14, 1668 in Gotha ; † September 14, 1731 ibid) was a German educator .

Life

Reichardt was initially trained by a private tutor and from 1684 attended the Illustre high school in his hometown. After graduation, he moved to the University of Jena in 1687 , where he studied theology and Old Testament languages in particular . This study, which was financed by a scholarship made possible by Thomas Reinesius , completed his master's degree in 1689 . He then taught at the University of Jena.

Reichardt went to Gotha in 1695, where he became a class teacher at the local grammar school and finally, in 1698, inspector of the churches and schools in the Duchy of Saxony-Gotha-Altenburg . At this time he continued to work scientifically and made trips to, for example, Job Ludolf .
