Johann Engelmann

Johann Engelmann (born August 18, 1874 in Alzey ; † August 18, 1955 there ) was a Hessian politician ( SPD ) and a former member of the state parliament of the People's State of Hesse in the Weimar Republic .

family

Johann Engelmann was the son of the handworker Philipp Engelmann and his wife Barbara née Distel. He married Juliane nee Sipp on October 6, 1900 and declared his religious affiliation to be free religious.

education and profession

Johann Engelmann was the workers' secretary in Worms and Mainz until 1920 . On December 1, 1920 he became director of the public employment record office in Mainz.

politics

Johann Engelmann was a city councilor in Worms from 1908 and a city councilor in Mainz in 1919. In 1920 he was elected to the Mainz district committee. From 1919 to 1921 and from 1924 to 1927 he was a member of the state parliament.
