Johann Ernst von Nassau-Hadamar (born October 25, 1631 in Hadamar ; † September 28, 1651 ibid) was a member of the younger line of the Nassau-Hadamar family .

Johann Ernst von Nassau-Hadamar was born as the 10th child of the successful and respected Prince Johann Ludwig von Nassau-Hadamar and Princess Ursula, a daughter of Count Simon the Elder of Lippe-Detmold .

education

He attended the University of Cologne for three years and stayed in the city of Leuven in Brabant for two years .

Life

On the one hand, he performed ecclesiastical functions as canon of St. Gereon and Canon in Cologne and Münster, on the other hand, he also participated in a campaign against the Dutch in 1650 under his cousin Johann Franz Desideratus von Nassau-Siegen as captain on the side of the Spaniards part. On March 14, 1642, he was presented by the electoral commission for the cathedral priest of the late canon Jobst von Vörden in Münster . With the revolt to the families Nassau, Lippe, Wolkenstein and Schaumburg on April 7th, he came into the possession of the benefice. Johann Ernst was also canon in Minden , Osnabrück and Strasbourg .
