Johann Friedrich Andreas Eichelberg

Johann Friedrich Andreas Eichelberg (born March 11, 1808 in Bramsche ; † April 25, 1871 in Geneva ) was a German natural scientist (including mineralogist, crystallographer and petrologist).

Eichelberg was from 1835 to 1837 a teacher at the Liestal district school and from 1837 to 1850 a teacher of natural history and goods science at the Zurich Industrial School (Cantonal School Zurich). From 1841 to 1859 he was a private lecturer in mineralogy and natural history at the University of Zurich .

On October 15, 1845, he was elected a member of the Leopoldina , nicknamed Blumenbach II .
