Johann Friedrich Eusebius Lotz

Johann Friedrich Eusebius Lotz (born January 13, 1771 in Sonnefeld , † November 13, 1838 in Coburg ) was a German lawyer and economist.

Life

The son of a judicial officer went to high school in Coburg from 1784 to 1789 and then studied law in Jena . In 1790 he became court advocate in Sonnefeld and then in Hildburghausen . In 1795 he worked in the archive and at the end of the following year was appointed government and consistorial secretary. In 1801 he was appointed to the ducal council and three years later to the chancellery. In 1810 he went to Coburg as a councilor and in 1816 took over the Principality of Lichtenberg, which had been assigned to Duke Ernst at the Congress of Vienna . Lotz later worked in the administration of the Greinburg dominion in Upper Austria. In 1827 he was involved in organizing the administration of the now united duchies of Coburg and Gotha . In 1833 he returned to Coburg forever.

Lotz was Commander of the Saxon-Ernestine House Order and the Portuguese Order of Our Lady and Knight of the Saxon Civil Order of Merit .
