Johann Friedrich Payer (born August 28, 1775 in Tübingen ; † June 9, 1851 in Neuenbürg ) was a Tübingen university governor and was therefore called a poodle in student jargon. He was the son of the University Pedell Ludwig Christoph Payer († September 13, 1814) and married to Christine Katharina Payer († March 22, 1858), b. Hedgehog.

The politician Friedrich von Payer was his grandson.

Honors

On October 24, 1839, he was awarded the gold medal of merit by the Ministry of the Interior and the Church and School System as a university officer. A letter of congratulations was handed out, signed by, among others, the herald of arms, Professor Friedrich Stälin .
