from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Johann Friedrich Stapel , also Stapell (* in Schönberg (Mecklenburg) ; † 1678 in Mölln ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran clergyman and author of edification writings.

Life

Johann Friedrich Stapel was probably a son of the bailiff on Stove Daniel Stapel (1600–1657). From September 1647 he studied Protestant theology at the University of Rostock . In 1653 he enrolled at the University of Jena , in 1654 responded to various disputations under the chairmanship of Caspar Posner and Johann Frischmuth (Orientalist) and was probably awarded a master's degree here in 1654/1655 . In 1655 he was a lecturer at the University of Wittenberg .

In 1657 he became a deacon (2nd pastor) and in 1668 pastor at St. Nicolai in Mölln .

He received a small epitaph in the church, which shows his portrait between two winding columns, hung over the officer's chair in 1832 and is now in the tower hall to the right of the entrance to the nave.
