Johann Georg Bestelmeyer (born August 22, 1785 in Schwabach , † September 28, 1852 in Nuremberg ) was a tobacco manufacturer and member of the state parliament in the Kingdom of Bavaria .

Bestelmeyer was considered to be the leading representative of the radical wing of Franconian liberalism: He was involved in local politics in Schwabach from 1818 and was elected as a class IV member of the first Bavarian state parliament in 1819 for the Rezatkreis district. In 1825 he moved to Nuremberg, where he was again involved in local politics and was elected second mayor in 1829. This election - like the re-election to the Bavarian State Parliament in 1830 - was not confirmed by King Ludwig I "for political reasons". From 1838 to 1848 he was finally able to exercise the deputy mayor's office and from 1837 to 1848 he was again a member of the Chamber of Deputies for Class IV in the district of Rezatkreis and Middle Franconia .
