Johann Georg Buchner
Johann Georg Buchner (* 1815 in Nuremberg ; † 1857 in Stuttgart ) was a German portrait and history painter, older brother of the portrait painter and photographer Carl Johann Sigmund Buchner (1821-1918).
Buchner studied from June 1, 1838 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich with Wilhelm von Kaulbach .
Since 1848 he was based in Stuttgart. In the last years of his life, Buchner painted portraits from photographs that his brother Carl probably made.
