Johann Georg Ehbruster (* 1678 ; † May 22, 1767 ) was a builder who lived in Schwechat near Vienna and built the baroque parish church of St. Jakobus in Schwechat together with his son Johann Nikolaus Ehbruster according to his own plans .

Life

The tower of the church was built by Johann Georg Ehbruster himself in 1757, the church building in 1764 and 1765 - after the dilapidated previous church was demolished - by his son Johann Nikolaus.

Johann Georg Ehbruster was appointed retired market judge of Schwechat in 1758 . In 1722 he settled in Schwechat, Hauptplatz 19, and practiced his trade as a master mason. Before beginning the construction of the church, he put the master's rights back in favor of his son Johann Nikolaus. Johann Georg Ehbruster had ten children with his wife Katharina, née Ridl. The couple were buried in the church crypt of the Schwechat branch church of the Holy Trinity , formerly called Capuchin Church or Church of Our Lady.

Awards

Ehbruster-Strasse in Schwechat was named in honor of him and his son Johann Nikolaus .
