Johann Georg Florschütz

Johann Georg Florschütz (born May 7, 1779 in Coburg , † June 26, 1849 ) was a German Protestant clergyman.

Life

Johann Georg Florschütz was the son of the high school teacher Johann Heinrich Florschütz and his wife Maria Barbara Johanna, geb. Aumüller, born. His brother Georg Florschütz became a lawyer and president of the consistory in Hanover and his other brother Johann Christoph Florschütz was a teacher and long-time companion of Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha and his brother Prince Ernst .

Johann Georg F.lorschütz married on March 22, 1814 in Hohenlimburg-Elsey Philippina Wilhelmina Sophia Friederika (* 1791; † unknown), a daughter of Johann Heinrich Helling. They had two children together:

Johann Georg Florschütz was pastor in Breckerfeld for seven years before he was elected pastor in Iserlohn in 1812 ; on the first Sunday of Advent he gave his inaugural sermon. When the Evangelical Church in Prussia was formed from Lutheran and Reformed congregations in Prussia in 1817 , Johann Georg Florschütz was elected as the first superintendent of this unified synod , where he also held the office of school inspector. He gave his last sermon on June 17, 1849 and died a few days later.
