Johann Georg Schenck von Grafenberg
Johann Georg Schenck von Grafenberg (* around 1560 in Freiburg im Breisgau , † 1620 in Hagenau ) was a German medic.
Schenck was the son of the physician Johannes Schenck von Grafenberg . After studying medicine, he worked as a doctor in Hagenau, Alsace . In addition to the publication of a new edition of his father's Observationes medicarum rararum , he published a number of writings of rather minor importance, including 1609 his Monstrorum historia memorabilis about " monsters ", which means people with malformations. But he also wrote the first gynecological bibliography with the title Pinax autorum qui gynaecia seu muliebra ex instituto scriptis exoluerunt et illustrarunt , which contains essential observations by doctors in this field up to the beginning of the 17th century, including those of the doctor Johannes Winter von Then after .
