Johann Georg Stockmar

Johann Georg Stockmar (* 1700 ; † 1759 in Pirmasens ) was a German court hunt painter at the Darmstadt court.

Life and works

Johann Georg Stockmar came from Saxony . His son Johann Jakob Stockmar was with Ludwig IX. (Hessen-Darmstadt) also court painter, but gave up this profession when his sovereign had died.

Many of Stockmar's works, such as a view of the Bingenheimer Forsthaus , a view of the Jägersburger Rondell , a view of the Kleudelburg near Battenberg , a view of Neujägersdorf , a view of the Katzenbach hunting lodge , a view of the Griesheim Jagdlusthau and a view of the Heidenhäusens near Liederbach are now in the Museum Jagdschloss Kranichstein .
