Johann Georg Wieninger
Johann Georg Wieninger (born July 20, 1774 in Wartberg ; † November 3, 1822 in Passau ) was a Bavarian businessman and politician.
Wieninger was born the son of the brewer and entrepreneur Johann Georg Michael Wieninger . His brothers Franz Xaver and Gottlieb were also members of the Bavarian state parliament. At the end of the 1780s the family moved to Vilshofen , where the father initially leased a brewery and later bought it, as well as the buildings of the former Capuchin monastery in Vilshofen .
Wieninger married Maria Therese von Poschinger (1788-1859), an aunt of the painter Richard von Poschinger , in 1811 .
He now took over his father's businesses in Passau, a tobacco shop and an oil pounder in the Schleiferhaus at Severinstor, with the right to manufacture snuff and smoking tobacco. His widow Therese sought to continue the business in 1822, but in the same year sold it to the most important competitor, the tobacco manufacturer Josef Pauer (1793-1851).
In addition to his commercial activity, Wieninger was also politically active. He was a municipal representative and was a member of the Bavarian Chamber of Deputies from 1819 until his death in 1822.
